Painting/pencil/Ink Tutorial Suggestions?

So... Following my tradition of one journal a year since I've belonged to dA, I thought I'd toss one up here. ^^

I know most of my deviations are photography but I really enjoy drawing and painting more, I just never feel any of my work is good enough to put up here without embarassing myself. So if anyone has any good tutorials or books to suggest on techniques of any kind please suggest them in a comment. I would appreciate it very much. I do frequently browse the tuts here on dA and use them almost every day, I just wanted to expand my library as much as possible.
